Social Action Poster (Resume)
For this design, I wanted to choose a topic that I believed would effect a large group of people. Not only that, but I wanted to do something that I have been effected by. Thus, the topic I chose was about college education. I first started off by sketching concepts that dealt with the pros and the cons of college. For pro, an obvious one is that if you get a degree, you will make more money. A con for college is that many students fall into debt from many loans they take out. This design went with the pro side. Instead of having a cliche "go to college and make more money" I wanted to show this in the poster. Showing this effectively will get people to take action. As you see in the poster, there's a pile of resumes in a trash can beside a desk. On the resumes you can clearly see that they have been denied. If you look at what's inside the red circle, you can see that the highest level of education was "high school". Unfortunately, That wasn't enough to get the boss' attention. On top off the desk is another stack of resumes with about the same information. Only this time, a college degree is the highest level of education. I added a check mark to the red circle to emphasize that this resume is good for a follow-up call and an interview.

Photo Collage: Michael Jordan
To me this project was the hardest so far because I had no experience with Photoshop. I chose to do a collage of Michael Jordan because to me and millions of other people in the world, he is the greatest basketball player that ever lived. Not only the greatest basketball player, I actually think he is the greatest athlete ever. I also chose to do Michael Jordan because with him, I would have more concepts to work with. Starting of with the background, I selected a bright sky. The reason for this was to make MJ seem as if he were a sports god above. I wanted to establish Jordan's identity with the number "23", his famous "Jumpman" logo, and his success as a Champion. To do this, I made sure that every image of Michael Jordan had the number 23 as his Jersey from his North Carolina college image to his Chicago Bulls images. To view him as a champion, I added an image of him grasping a championship trophy. I also added an image of him with all of his NBA championship rings. In the top right of the compostition, you can see his name along with his number. In-between the both is his famous logo, "The Jumpman".

XBOX 360 Post Card Design
For this post card design, the event being advertised is an XBOX 360 tournament. On the front design you can see that the back of an XBOX is being shown. This is to obviously let the people know what game system is being used. There isn't anything plugged into the back of the XBOX. This helps the phrase, "Plug in at LLoyd Hall". The font and colors being used give an electronic type feel for the event. Both the place and time of the event is displayed on the front of the post card (LLoyd Hall)(Friday 6pm). For the back of the post card, a simple message with a simple image is shown. It lets the contestants know what game is being played and what they will have to bring. The outline of the gun easily connects with the most all time played game, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare2", so they know what game is being played. The "skills and competition" for weapons to bring, lets the audience know that they are not required to bring anything to the tournament...Except for their game face.
