Design Lab
Creating a logo for the design lab was pretty interesting. Making a logo that actually had the word "design" in it was going to be a challenge. When I finally had a design for critique, I included an old styled light bulb instead of the more energy efficient one that's in the final. I thought that using the round end of the light switch for the "i" in design worked well. To make it seem that DESIGN LAB had a shadowed effect from the light, I created white shadows. One thing I would change is the font for "Maryville College" so that it would be more legible.
For the letterhead, I only used a letterhead template which included the design that's at the bottom
Tea Package Design
This project was a big learning process for me. I found out that time management would have an affect on a designs outcome. For the colors that were used, I chose green and orange. I thought that they contrasted well and had a warm cozy feel. There really isn't anything about the design that I am proud of. If I had to do it over again, I would choose a different package layout since it was hard to place this package design onto an aluminum cylinder.
