Color Samples in the Environment

This is symbolic because each color symbolizes something. White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness & valour, and Blue, the color of the Chief.

Transparent, Translucent and Opaque Hues can be found in items like coke bottles.

In matte hue there is mostly a darker, thicker color, which can sometimes be found in leather. You can also find textured colors in leather as well.

Stucture Modular

In this project we had to take recent compositions and change the structure of them. At first(on the bottom) i had a "radial burst" composition and changed it to "Diagnality" by easily rotating the lines.
For my next one, I took my asymmetrical composition and created a "Triangled" stucture. It's a bit simple but it works.
At the top is my Symmetrical design to the left. I took this one and decided to make it an "L shaped" structure. I think this worked a little more because I had more shapes to make the "L" that I needed. I choose to change my asymmetrical, symmetrical, and radial designs because they gave me a lot of shapes to work with.

Texture Modular

I was kinda disappointed with how long it took me to do this modular. It took a while to actually find the actual picture I wanted to do and the textures for it. When I finally figured out what textures I was going to use, it took some work to place them in the composition how I wanted them to be. My five objects for texture were: the golf ball, grass, the cup, dirt, and background grass. For the golf ball I used the surface of the moon. Pie crust for the dirt. Ice crystals for the grass. Concrete for the cup. Then I used carpet for the background grass. I believe my choices of texture were very creative and I am most proud of them in this project.

Space Modulars: Deep and Shallow

Once again I choose to do a car for this project because there is a lot of spacial depth to it. I chose to zoom in on a part of the car that I thought had the most shallow relationship. In order to turn the image into a deep modular, I simply zoomed out and did the whole car. I did a diagonal photo of the car because it looks elongated.

I had lots of fun with this project. It was a bit challenging though. With the still life there were so many different shades and it was hard for me to deal with them. The glass pitcher had a lot going on mainly because you could see everything inside of it. It reflected every other object that was beside it. I thought that I did a better job with the jar of peppers and the glass with the bamboo sticks inside.

I was very proud of the success I had on the car. I chose it because it had a lot of value to it with all of the light hitting it and its actual shape. What challenged me the most was the wheel and the interior of the car. I think I pulled it off excellently though. To me it kinda looks better than the actual car! I really think that this one was is one of my most successful works of art that I have ever done.

Shape Modular: Organic, Geometric, Ambiguous

The ambiguous picture is my favorite out of the whole three that I made. I like this one the most because I think that it has more creativity. My idea was to make a city on a hill that was oddly in the time of both day and night. Hope you like it!
With the geometric composition I started off by creating 5 black squares. After going this I had 9 squares to work with. I used a pattern that went in the order of: square, star, circle, square, star, circle, square, star, etc. It seems like it's easier to see the pattern in the black squares.
With my organic image I decided to use different strokes of the contoured line tool. You can probably tell that it's a lion because of the large amount of space that the head takes up. I used the hatch mark technique on the jaw of the lion to give the image some detail. Also I used different strokes on the lion's main for detail.

See also: University and campus maps

Campus Map As you can see, this is a map that shows a portion of the University of Tennessee's campus. I thought that this campus had quite a bit of orginzation when I looked at it. I will start with the area that the sports are in. Since I like sports so much, the track and field caught my eye. I thought that it was a good idea to have a whole section of the campus made specificly for a certain "activity". For example, the track is located in the same place as the intramural fields, tennis courts, sports bubble, and phys. ed. center. In the top left of the map you can see that many of the residential halls are located across from each other. Also to the right of the sports area are places for art, music, and theatre, three simimlar subjects. I thought this was a good layout for the campus because it created strong unity when similar subjects were within the same proximity.
